  • Remember to stuff as you crochet.

With a 2.75 mm crochet and yarn in white.

  • Round 1: Start 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)

  • Rounds 5-7: 1 sc in all st. (18)
  • Round 8: [1 dec in the next st, 1 sc]x6. (12)

Place the safety eyes between Rounds 5 and 6, spaced by 2 stitches.

  • Round 9: [2 sc, 1 dec in the next st]x3. (9)

Fill the head.

Change for the red yarn.

  • Round 10: [9 inc]. (18)
  • Rounds 11-14: 1 sc in all st. (18)

Change for the black yarn.

  • Round 15: 1 sc in all st. (18)

Change back for the red yarn.

  • Round 16: working in the back loops only: 1 sc in all st. (18)
  • Rounds 17-19: 1 sc in all st. (18)
  • Round 20: Working in the back loops only: [9 dec]. (9)

Fill the body.

Close the body: Using a tapestry needle, weave the yarn tail through the front loops of all 9 stitches and pull gently to close the opening. Secure the yarn and weave in the end.

With a 2.75 mm crochet and yarn in black.

Join the black yarn in any front loop stitches of Round 19 (I joined in the back to make it less visible).

  • Round 21: Working in the front loops only: 1 sc in all st. (18).

Finish by a slst in the first sc of the round. Cut and secure the yarn.

Using the gold yarn and a tapestry needle, make four stitches in a square shape around the black round to form the belt.

The beard – Santa Doll – Free Crochet Pattern

  • The beard is worked in rows.

With a 2.75 mm crochet and yarn in white.

  • Row 1: ch 13. (13)
  • Row 2: starting in the 2nd ch from the hook: 1 sc in all st. (12)
  • Row 3: ch1, turn; [1 sc, (2 dc in the next st), 1sc] x4. (16)

Cut the yarn but leave a long tail for sewing. Sew the beard to Santa’s face.

The glasses – Santa Doll – Free Crochet Pattern

Glasses: Using the gold wire and a pencil, shape the wire into a pair of glasses as shown below. Create the first loop for one lens, then place the glasses on Santa’s head to determine where to form the second loop. Cut the temples to the desired length and insert them into the sides of the head.

The Hat – Santa doll – Free Crochet Pattern

  • The hat is worked in continuous rounds (as a spiral). Use a stitch marker if needed.
  • We will use a bigger crochet hook to make the hat

With a 3.25 mm crochet hook and yarn in red.

  • Round 1: start 4 sc in a magic ring. (4)
  • Round 2: [1 sc, 1 inc] x2. (6)
  • Round 3: [2 sc, 1 inc] x2. (8)
  • Round 4: [3 sc, 1 inc] x2. (10)
  • Round 5: [4 sc, 1 inc] x2. (12)
  • Round 6: [5 sc, 1 inc] x2. (14)
  • Round 7: [6 sc, 1 inc] x2. (16)
  • Round 8: [7 sc, 1 inc] x2. (18)
  • Rounds 9 to 11: 1 sc in all st. (18)

Change for the white yarn:

  • Round 7 : [1 hdc in all st]. (18)

When you finish the last round, cut the yarn and pull it through the last stitch to secure. Weave in the yarn tail with a tapestry needle and hide it inside the hat.

To make a small pompom, wrap the white yarn around the prongs of a fork about 25 times. Knot the yarn on the side of the fork. Cut the yarn, then slide a piece of yarn between the middle prongs and tie it tightly around the wrapped yarn. Remove it from the fork, knot again to secure, and cut through all the loops. Trim the ends to shape your pompom (I made mine as small as possible), then glue or sew it on top of the hat.

Fold the hat and use your tapestry needle with red yarn to add a small stitch that holds it in place.
