This pattern is written using US crochet terms.
Pattern Pieces
- Body
- 2 ears
- 2 arms
- 2 legs
Finished Size
- Approx. 1.5 inches (4 cm) using light worsted yarn
- Approx. 2.5 inches (7 cm) using plush yarn
Material:
- Worsted yarn in white, black, and a small amount of pink for the cheeks
- Or Plush yarn in white, black, and a small amount of pink for the cheeks.
- 2.75 mm (US C-2) crochet hook for worsted yarn
- Or 4.5 mm (US 7) crochet hook for plush yarn
- 2 black safety eyes: 6 mm (worsted yarn) or 10 mm (plush yarn)
- Stitch markers (if needed)
- Tapestry needle
- Polyfill
- Optional: fabric/hot glue

How to crochet a Panda?
Body
- Worked in continuous rounds. Use a stitch marker if needed.
- Stuff as you go.
With white yarn:

Plush yarn option: ch 2, work 6 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook. - Round 2: [6 inc]. (12)
- Round 3: [1 inc in the next st, 1 sc]x6. (18)
- Round 4: [1 sc in all st]. (18)
- Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)
Change to black yarn.

- Rounds 5-6: [1 sc in all st]. (18)
Change back to white yarn.

Face Details
Place the safety eyes between Rounds 9 and 10, spaced by 2 stitches, but do not secure them yet.
Once you are happy with the placement, remove the eyes.
Using black yarn and a tapestry needle, embroider four short vertical stitches between Rounds 8 and 9 to create the eye patches. Repeat for the second eye (see photos for guidance).
Reinsert and secure the safety eyes.
With black yarn, embroider a small nose centered between Rounds 8 and 9, directly below the eyes.
With pink yarn, embroider the cheeks between Rounds 7 and 8, spaced about 4 stitches apart.
Stuff the body firmly.
- Round 11: [1 dec, 1 sc]x6. (12)
- Round 12: [6 dec]. (6)
Fasten off, close the opening, and weave in the ends.
Legs (make 2)
With black yarn:
- Round 1: 5 sc in a magic ring. (5)
Plush yarn option: ch 2, work 5 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail.
Thread the yarn through the first stitch to close the leg.
Sew the legs to the body between Rounds 2 and 3, spaced by about 2 stitches.
Place the right side of each leg against the body. For very small pieces, a small amount of fabric glue can help secure them.
Arms (make 2)
With black yarn:
- Row 1: ch 5.
- Row 2: starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each ch. (4)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Sew the arms to the body between Rounds 5 and 6, spaced by about 3 stitches.
Tip: Sewing tiny pieces can be tricky. You can sew only the outer “shoulder” edge of each arm and secure the rest with a small amount of fabric glue.
