Size :

2.5” / 7 cm tall when made with the indicated yarn.

Material:

• 1 type of yarn calling for 5.5 mm (US I-9) hook
• Size US D­3 (3.5 mm) crochet hook
• Poly-Fil Fiberfill stuffing
• tapestry needle

For the hearts with eyes:

– for the big heart:

  • Yarn calling for a US L-11 / 8 mm hook in the color of your choice, and a small amount of pink for the cheeks. And  Yarn calling for a US I-9 / 5.5 mm hook in black for the mouth
  • Size US 7 / 4.5 mm crochet hook
  • 2 black safety eyes (10 mm)

– for the small heart:

  • Yarn calling for a US I-9 / 5.5 mm hook in the color of your choice and a small amount of pink for the cheeks and black for the mouth
  • Size US C-2 / 2.75 mm crochet hook
  • 2 black safety eyes (6 mm)


Let’s start your crochet heart! – Crochet heart: Free Pattern

Work in rounds, do not turn unless specified. If needed, use a stitch marker for the first stitch of each round.

Part A

  • Round 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
  • Round 2: inc 6 times (12 sc)
  • Round 3: [1 sc in next st, 1 inc in next st] x6 (18)
  • Round 4: 1 sc in all st (18)
  • Round 5: 1 sc in all st (18)
  • Round 6: 1 sc in all st (18)

Cut and weave in the ends. This part of the heart is called « Part A ».

Part B

Repeat Round 1 to 6 to make the second part of the heart, do not cut after Round 6 and go to the next step for round 7. This part of the heart is called « Part B ».

Valentine's day Crochet pattern

  • Round 7: We are now joining Part A to Part B with 6 sc. Insert your hook in one stitch of Part A (from the inside) and in the next st of Part B (See pictures below to help you). Make 1 sc. (see pictures). Repeat the same action with the 5 next st. Parts A and B are now joined by 6 sc. Make 1 Sc in all the 12 remaining st of part B and all the 12 remaining st of part A. (24)

  • Round 8: [sc in next 2 st, dec in next st] x6 (18)
  • Round 9: sc in all st (18)

If you want to add eyes, put the eyes between Rounds 6 and 7, spaced by 3 st.

Start to stuff with polyfill.

  • Round 10: [sc in next 4 st, dec in next st] x3 (15)
  • Round 11: sc in all st (15)
  • Round 12: [sc in next st, dec in next st] x5 (10)

Stuff with polyfill.

  • Round 13: [dec in next st] x5 (5)

Cut and close the heart

If you do the heart with eyes, add two little cheeks and a mouth.
