Find here a cute pattern for these tiny crochet koalas!
Hi everyone! Look at these tiny crochet koalas! It is the same pattern that I used for my tiny bear . They are perfect to make crochet keychains or little toys for children.

Crochet Tiny Koala
Material:
- For the koala and the clothes: yarn calling for 5,5 mm hook in: grey and white for the koala without clothes; grey and green for the male or grey and pink for the female.
- Size 3.25 mm (D) crochet hook
- A small amount of black yarn for the nose and white yarn for the ears
- 2 black safety eyes (7.5 mm)
- Poly-Fil Fiberfill stuffing
- Stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
Abbreviations:

What did I use?
For the koalas and the clothes Light worsted yarn.
I used « Stylecraft special aran».
Pattern: How to crochet a tiny Koala?
The pattern is in 3 different parts:
- the koala without clothes
- the female koala
- the male koala
The Koala without Clothes:
The Legs and body:
Leg 1:
Work in rounds, do not turn unless specified. If needed, use a stitch marker for the first stitch of each round.
With the grey yarn and the 3.25 mm hook
- Round 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)
- Round 2: [2 sc in next st, 1 inc] x2. (8)
- Rounds 3 to 6: [1 sc in all st]. (8)
Cut the yarn
Leg 2:
Make another leg just like you did for the first one but do not cut the yarn after round 6.
Joining the legs:
- Round 7: You will now keep working in the second leg: make 1 sc in the next 3 st. Keep working in the first leg: make 1 sc in the next 8 st. Now working in the second leg again: 1 sc in the next 5 st. (16)
- Round 8: [1 sc in the next 7 st, 1 inc] x2. (18)
- Round 9: [1 sc in the next 8 st, 1 inc] x2. (20)
Fill the legs with poly-fil.
- Round 10: [1 sc in all st]. (20)
- Round 11: [1 sc in the next 8 st, 1 dec] x2. (18)
- Round 12: [1 sc in all st]. (18)
- Round 13: [1 sc in the next 7 st, 1 dec] x2. (16)
- Rounds 14 to 15: [1 sc in all st]. (16)
Fill the body with poly-fil.
- Round 16: [1 sc in the next 2 st, 1 dec] x4. (12)
- Round 17: [1 sc in the next st, 1 inc] x6. (18)
- Round 18: [1 sc in the next 2 st, 1 inc] x6. (24)
- Rounds 19 to 24: [1 sc in all st]. (24)
Place the safety eyes between rounds 22 and 23, spaced by 3 st.
- Round 25: [1 sc in the next 2 st, 1 dec] x6. (18)
- Round 26: [1 sc in the next st, 1 dec] x6. (12)
Fill the head with poly-fil.
- Round 27: [6 dec]. (6)
Cut the yarn and close the head.
The Ears (make 2):
Work in rounds, do not turn unless specified. If needed, use a stitch marker for the first stitch of each round.
With the white yarn and the 3.25 mm hook
- Round 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)
- Round 2: [1 sc in the next st, 1 inc] x3. (9)
Cut the yarn and keep for later.
With the grey yarn and the 3.25 mm hook
- Round 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)
- Round 2: [1 sc in the next st, 1 inc] x3. (9)
- Round 3: You will now be working in both the grey and the white circle. Place the white circle over the grey circle. Insert your hook in the following st from both circles and work: [1 inc in all st] (18).
Sew the ears to each sides of the head.
The Nose:
With the black yarn and the 3.25 mm hook
- Row 1: ch 4 (4)
- Row 2: starting in the 2nd ch from the hook: 1 sc in the next 2 ch, 2 sc in the last ch. Now working on the other side of the chain: 2 sc in the next 2 ch. (6)
- sl st in the next st
Cut the yarn (leave a long tail for sewing).
With your tapestry needle, sew the nose below the eyes.
The Arms (make 2):
Work in rounds, do not turn unless specified. If needed, use a stitch marker for the first stitch of each round.
With the brown yarn and the 3.25 mm hook
- Round 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)
- Rounds 2 to 7: [1 sc in all st]. (6)
Cut the yarn (leave a long tail for sewing).
Sew the arms on each side of the body (top of the arms over round 15).
The belly:
With the white yarn and the 3.25 mm hook
- Row 1: ch 4. (4)
- Row 2: starting in the 2nd ch from the hook: 1 sc in the next 3 ch. (3)
- Row 3: ch1, turn: 1 sc in the next st, 1 inc, 1 sc in the next st. (5)
- Rows 4 to 7: ch1, turn: 1 sc in all st. (5)
- Row 8: ch1, turn: 1 sc in the next st, 1 dec, 1 sc in the next st. (3)
Cut the yarn (leave a long tail for sewing). Sew the white part over the belly.
The female Koala:
The Legs and body:
Leg 1:

With the grey yarn and the 3.25 mm hook

Change for the pink yarn and the 3.25 mm hook
- Round 6: [1 sc in all st]. (8)
Cut the yarn
Leg 2:
Make another leg just like you did for the first one but do not cut the yarn after round 6.

- Round 7: You will now keep working in the second leg: make 1 sc in the next 3 st. Keep working in the first leg: make 1 sc in the next 8 st. Now working in the second leg again: 1 sc in the next 5 st. (16)
- Round 8: [1 sc in the next 7 st, 1 inc] x2. (18)
- Round 9: [1 sc in the next 8 st, 1 inc] x2. (20)
Fill the legs with poly-fil.
- Round 10: working in the back loops only: [1 sc in all st]. (20)
- Round 11: [1 sc in the next 8 st, 1 dec] x2. (18)

Fill the body with poly-fil.

- Row 2: starting in the 2nd ch from the hook: 1 sc in the next 2 ch, 2 sc in the last ch. Now working on the other side of the chain: 2 sc in the next 2 ch. (6)
- sl st in the next st
Cut the yarn (leave a long tail for sewing).
With your tapestry needle, sew the nose below the eyes.
With the pink yarn and your tapestry needle, make 2 cheeks on each side of the nose.

The skirt:
Work in rounds, do not turn unless specified. If needed, use a stitch marker for the first stitch of each round.
With the pink yarn and the 3.25 mm hook
Join the yarn on the round 10 of the body, working in the front loop only (it does not matter in which stitch you join but I would suggest to join in a stitch at the back for the body.
- Round 1: working in the front loop only: [1 sc in all st]. (20)
- Round 2: [1 sc in the next 4 st, 1 inc] x4. (24)
- Round 3: [1 sc in all st]. (24)
- Round 4: [1 sc in the next 3 st, 1 inc] x6. (30)
sl st in the next st, cut the yarn and yarn over.
The male Koala:

With the green yarn and the 3.25 mm hook
With the koala facing you, join the yarn on the round 10 of the body, working in the front loop only. The overalls’s top will be 6 stitches long. Join the yarn on a stitches at the right in order to place the overalls’ top in the center ( 3 stitches at the top of each leg).
- Row 1: working in the front loop only: [1 sc in the next 6 st]. (6)
- Rows 2 to 5: ch1, turn: [1 sc in the next 6 st]. (6)
Do not cut the yarn.
The suspenders:
Keep working and chain 15 to make the suspender on the left. Cut the yarn and yarn over.
Join the green yarn in the stitch at the left of the overalls and chain 15 to make the suspender on the right. Cut the yarn and yarn over.
With your tapestry needle, sew the left suspender on the right back side of the trousers and the right suspender on the left back side of the trousers.
