Thanksgiving Turkey Hat
Find here a free pattern for a Thanksgiving Turkey Crochet Hat.
Thanksgiving is around the corner! It will be our second Thanksgiving in the USA and now that my son is older and understands things better, I decided to make him a cut Turkey hat!
I made it in child size but I also give information to make it in smaller and bigger sizes. I hope you will enjoy it! It is done with chunky/bulky yarn and works really quickly. I designed and made it in a couple of hours.
MATERIALS:
• chunky/bulky yarn calling for 6,5 mm hook in brown, white, red, orange, yellow, green and black.
• Size 8 mm crochet hook for the hat (I used a plastic hook) and a 5.5 mm hook for the eyes, beak and hat.
• Stitch markers
• Tapestry needle
ABBREVIATIONS:
• chain (ch)
• magic ring (mr)
• single crochet (sc)
• increase (inc)
• invisible decrease (dec)
• slip stitch (sl st)
• half double crochet (hdc)
• double crochet (dc)
What did I use?
I used Hayfield bonus chunky but any other chunky/bulky yarn will work too. But don’t forget to check your gauge.
Let’s start!

I decided not to fill the hat with polyfill as I wanted to be able to put it flat to store it but you can add some if you want to.
Sew the snood to the hat first (I only sew the top of the snood as I wanted it to “move”). Then, add the beak and the eyes. You can now sew the little hat on. I used a soccer ball to determine where to place the hat (as my son was not really helpful!).
