Hi everyone! Here is a special crochet heart I made for my son for Valentine’s day. It works really quickly and is a perfect last minute present.

Crochet Heart – Valentine’s day
Material:
- Yarn calling for 6.5 mm (K) hook in the color of your choice
- Size 6.5 mm (K) crochet hook
- Poly-Fil Fiberfill stuffing
- Stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
Abbreviations:
- chain (ch)
- magic ring (mr)
- single crochet (sc)
- increase (inc)
- invisible decrease (dec)
- slip stitch (sl st)
- half double crochet (hdc)
- double crochet (dc)
What did I use?
Bulky yarn.
I used Bernat Blanket
Pattern: How to crochet a large heart?
Work in rounds, do not turn unless specified. If needed, use a stitch marker for the first stitch of each round.
With the color of your choice and the 6.5 mm hook.
Part 1:
- Round 1: start 9 sc in a magic ring. (9)
- Round 2: [2 sc in all st]. (18)
- Round 3: [1 sc in the next 2 st, 1 inc] x6. (24)
- Round 4: [1 sc in the next 3 st, 1 inc] x6. (30)
- Rounds 5 to 9 : [1 sc in the next 3 st, 1 inc] x6. (30)
Cut the yarn, yarn over.
Part 2:
- Round 1: start 9 sc in a magic ring. (9)
- Round 2: [2 sc in all st]. (18)
- Round 3: [1 sc in the next 2 st, 1 inc] x6. (24)
- Round 4: [1 sc in the next 3 st, 1 inc] x6. (30)
- Rounds 5 to 9 : [1 sc in all st]. (30)
We are now going to join both parts together:
- Round 10: Keep working in the part 2[1 sc in the next 3 st, 1 dec] x3; now working in the part 1: [1 sc in the next 3 st, 1 dec] x6; now working in the part 2 again: [1 sc in the next 3 st, 1 dec] x3. (48)
Your 2 parts are now join (if you have a little hole in the center, you may want to close it with your tapestry needle).
- Round 11 : [1 sc in all st]. (48)
- Round 12: [1 sc in the next 2 st, 1 dec] x12. (36)
- Rounds 13 to 14 : [1 sc in all st]. (36)
- Round 15: [1 sc in the next st, 1 dec] x12. (24)
- Rounds 16 to 17 : [1 sc in all st]. (24)
Start to fill the heart with poly-fil.
- Round 18: [1 sc in the next 2 st, 1 dec] x6. (18)
- Round 19 : [1 sc in all st]. (18)
- Round 20: [1 sc in the next st, 1 dec] x6. (12)
- Round 21: [1 sc in the next st, 1 dec] x4. (8)
- Round 22: [1 sc in the next st, 1 dec] x4. (8)
Keep filling the heart with poly-fil.
- Round 23: [4 dec]. (4)
Cut the yarn and close the heart with your tapestry needle.
