Pattern: How to crochet a little green ghost?

Let’s start

The body – Free Crochet Pattern Green Ghost

  • The body is worked in continuous rounds (as a spiral). Use a stitch marker if needed.

With the pink yarn and the 3.5 mm hook

  • Round 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)
  • Round 2: [1 inc in all st]. (12)
  • Round 3: [1 sc in the next st, 1 inc] x6. (18)
  • Round 4: [1 sc in the 2 next st, 1 inc] x6. (24)
  • Round 5: [1 sc in the 3 next st, 1 inc] x6. (30)
  • 1 sl st in the next st.
  • Leave a long tail and cut the yarn

Fold your circle in two and crochet evenly (about 8 st) on the flat side – see pictures below. Keep the mouth for later.

Work in rounds, do not turn unless specified. If needed, use a stitch marker for the first stitch of each round.

We start by the top of the head.

With the green yarn and the 3.5 mm hook

  • Round 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)
  • Round 2: [1 inc in all st]. (12)
  • Round 3: [1 sc in the next st, 1 inc] x6. (18)
  • Round 4: [1 sc in the 2 next st, 1 inc] x6. (24)
  • Round 5: [1 sc in all st]. (24)
  • Round 6: [1 sc in the 3 next st, 1 inc] x6. (30)
  • Rounds 7 to 9: [1 sc in all st]. (30)

Place the eyes between Rounds 6 and 7, spaced by 4 st.

With the black thread and your tapestry needle, make two eyebrows above the eyes.

With a small amount of green yarn, make a nose below the eyes.

  • Round 10: [We will now be working in the st from head and the mouth (green and pink st): 1 sc in the next 15 st; keep working in the st from the head only (green only): 1 sc in the next 15 st]. (30)

  •  Round 11: [(now working in the lower mouth: 1 sc in the 3 next st, 1 dec) x3; 1 sc in the next 15 st]. (27)

  •  Round 12: [(working in the front loop only: 1 sc in the 2 next st, 1 dec) x3; 1 sc in the next 15 st]. (24)

Fil the head with polyfill. Be careful not to overfill it as you want the mouth to stay flat and you want to be able to close it!

  • Round 13: [1 sc in the next 24 st]. (24)
  • Round 14: [(1 sc in the 2 next st, 1 inc) x3; 1 sc in the next 15 st]. (27)

  • Round 17: working in the front loop only: [1 sc in all st]. (40)

  1. I loved making this little cutie. Only problem I have is which one of Natalina’s patterns do I start next?
🫶🏻thanks to Natalina for sharing her talent. 🫶🏻

  2. I am newer to crochet, but I found the attaching the mouth part to be difficult to understand. especially when we put the eyes on. there was no direction on where to put the eyes. clearer instructions on that part would be nice.

    1. Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry the pattern was not clear enough. I will try to make it better.
