Pattern: How to crochet a No-sew Crochet Snowman?
Let’s start – No-sew Crochet Snowman
The body – No-sew Crochet Snowman
- The Snowman is worked in continuous rounds (as a spiral). Use a stitch marker if needed.
- Remember to stuff as you crochet.
With a 2.75 mm crochet and white yarn (or with a bigger hook of your choice):
-
- Round 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring. (6) – NB: if you work with plush yarn: ch2; make 6 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook. (6)
- Round 2: [6 inc]. (12)
- Round 3: [1 inc in the next st, 1 sc]x6. (18)
- Rounds 4-5: [1 sc in all st]. (18)
Change for the blue yarn:
-
- Round 6: [1 sc in all st]. (18)
Change for the white yarn:
- Round 7: working in the back loop only (BLO): [1 sc in all st]. (18)
- Rounds 8-9: [1 sc in all st]. (18)
Change for the red yarn:
- Round 10: [1 sc in all st]. (18)
Place the eyes between Rounds 8 and 9, spaced by 2 st, centered at the front of the head but do not fix them yet. It will be easier the work on the nose without the washers behind the eyes.
Insert your crochet hook under the stitch between the eyes (from the right to the left – see picture below). Join the orange yarn. Chain 4. Starting in the 2nd ch from the hook: 1 slst, 1 sc, 1 sc (3). Cut the yarn. With your tapestry needle, insert the yarn inside the body. You can leave the nose like this or add a little stitch if you prefer it to be sewn to the body. Secure both ends but a knot and hide it inside the body.
Keep working on the snowman’s hat:
- Round 11: working in back loops only (BLO): [1 sc in all st]. (18)
- Round 12: [1 sc, 1 dec] x6. (12)
Fill the body with polyfill.
- Round 13: [6 dec]. (6)
Cut the yarn, close the body, and fasten off.
Sew or glue a little pompom at the top of the hat.
Let’s now work on the scarf. Join the blue yarn in the front loop of a stitch of Round 6. The scarf will be joined by 2 stitches. You can decide where you want to place the scarf. I decided to put mine on the right side (see pictures below).
- Row 1: Starting in the same st where you join: 1 sc, 1 sc in the next. (2)
- Row 2: ch1, turn: 1 sc in the next 2 st. (2)
- Row 3: ch1, turn: 1 sc in the next 2 st. (2)
Cut the yarn, and fasten off.
Congratulations on crafting the cutest Snowman! I’m looking forward to seeing your wonderful creations.
