Pattern: How to crochet a No-sew Crochet Reindeer?

Let’s start – No-sew Crochet Reindeer

The body – No-sew Crochet Reindeer

  • The Reindeer is worked in continuous rounds (as a spiral). Use a stitch marker if needed.
  • Remember to stuff as you crochet.

With a 2.75 mm crochet and brown yarn (or with a bigger hook of your choice):

    • Round 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring. (6) – NB: if you work with plush yarn: ch2; make 6 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook. (6)
    • Round 2: [6 inc]. (12)
    • Round 3: [1 inc in the next st, 1 sc]x6. (18)
    • Rounds 4-10: [1 sc in all st]. (18)

Place the eyes between Rounds 8 and 9, spaced by 2 st.

With your tapestry needle and the red yarn, make a little nose between rounds 7 and 8 (I used 2 strands of yarn).

  • Round 11: [1 sc in all st]. (18)
  • Round 12: [1 sc, 1 dec] x6. (12)

Fill the body with polyfill.

  • Round 13: [6 dec]. (6)

Cut the yarn, close the body, and fasten off.

With your tapestry needle and either 1 strand of chunky yarn or 2 strands of light worsted yarn in white: cover: 3 stitches between Rounds 3 and 4 in the center of the body, 4 stitches between Rounds 4 and 5, 4 stitches between Rounds 5 and 6.

Cut the yarn, and fasten off.

The ears – No-sew Crochet Reindeer

The ears are placed over Rounds 11 and 12.

– The left ear (on the right when facing the reindeer):

With a 2.75 mm crochet and brown yarn (or with a bigger hook of your choice)

Join the yarn by placing your crochet hook under a stitch of Round 11, on the side of the head (see picture).

    • Row 1: ch 5. (5)
    • Row 2: starting in the second ch from the hook: 1 slst, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc. (4)

Cut the yarn, sew the ears to the body by inserting the end of yarn between Rounds 11 and 12.

– The right ear:

With a 2.75 mm crochet and brown yarn (or with a bigger hook of your choice)

Join the yarn by placing your crochet hook under a stitch of Round 11, on the side of the head (see picture).

  • Row 1: ch 5. (5)
  • Row 2: starting in the second ch from the hook: 1 slst, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc. (4)

I secured the ears with a knot that I hid in the body.

The antlers – No-sew Crochet Reindeer

The antlers are placed over Round 12.

With a 2.75 mm crochet and beige yarn (or with a bigger hook of your choice)

Join the yarn by placing your crochet hook under a stitch of Round 12 (from the outside – see pictures below):

    • Row 1: ch 4. (4)
    • Row 2: starting in the second ch from the hook: 3 sl st. (3)

Cut the yarn, insert the ends inside the body and secure by a knot.

Congratulations on crafting the cutest Reindeer! I’m looking forward to seeing your wonderful creations.
