The Feathers – Crochet Pattern Turkey Appliqué
- The feathers are worked in rows.
- You will need a total of 7 feathers. I made 2 yellow, 2 green, 2 red and 1 blue.
With a 2.75 mm crochet.
- Row 1: ch 11. (11)
- Row 2: starting in the 2nd ch from the hook: 1 sc in the next 4 ch, 1 hdc in the next 3 ch, 1 dc in the next 2 ch, 3 dc in the last ch. Now working on the other side of the chain: 1 dc in the next 2 ch, 1 hdc in the next 3 ch, 1 sc in the next 4 ch. (21)
Cut the yarn (but leave a long tail for sewing behind the head).
Sew the feathers as follow: start with the blue one in the center of the head (see pictures below). Then on the right side, sew a red, yellow and green one. Repeat the same thing on the left side.
Just a note, I used knots to attach and secure all the strings (it is just faster this way). You can add a little spot of glue on each knot. I then glue a piece of felt on the back. This is totally optional, it is just an idea.

The O Family
The kids had fun at the park today! C is all about climbing rocks now and V still loves to climb trees. And guess what? My husband got a motorbike! That means I won’t have to take him to work and pick him up in the evening (we only have one car). It took me more than 1 hour a day to bring him/pick him up. So I now have 1 more hour to crochet! It will make our life easier, especially in winter when I won’t have to bring the kids out in the cold at 8 pm to go to pick him up. We have been doing that for 6 years and a change will sure be appreciated for all of us.

Instead of the felt, use the magnetized material so this can be a magnet for the refrigerator. Kids will love it!
Thank you. That’s a great idea! I actually added a magnet to the felt to fix it to the fridge. But I will check out this magntized material!
Could it be a coaster? Use French knot for eyes . Put the felt on the back for absorption?
I don’t see why not. It is a good idea!
