Find here an easy crochet pattern to make a Gingerbread Girl
Hi everyone! You will find on this page a Gingerbread girl crochet pattern. I already made a crochet Gingerbread man that you can find here. They work really fast and are perfect for a last-minute crochet project! This Christmas crochet doll collection is adorable and we will want to make them all. Lucky for you, they are easy and small crochet patterns! You will be able to make them all really quickly!
The body is made in one part, so if you don’t like sewing many parts, it is the perfect crochet project for you.

Gingerbread Girl Crochet Pattern
Material:
- Yarn calling for a 5.5 mm hook in brown, white, red, and pink.
- A very small amount of pearl cotton in white for the mouth.
- Size 3.5 mm crochet hook.
- 2 black safety eyes (7.5 mm)
- Stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
- Facultative: 2 small buttons
- Facultative: 2 little bows (I will show you how to crochet one)

- chain (ch)
- magic ring (mr)
- single crochet (sc)
- increase (inc)
- invisible decrease (dec)
- slip stitch (sl st)
- half double crochet (hdc)
- double crochet (dc)
Pattern: How to crochet a Gingerbread girl?
We start with the head and finish with the bottom of the body.
The head and the body – Gingerbread Girl Crochet Pattern
With a 3.5 mm crochet and the brown yarn.
- Round 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)
- Round 2: [1 inc in all st]. (12)
- Round 3: [1 sc, 1 inc] x6. (18)
- Round 4: [2 sc, 1 inc] x6. (24)
- Rounds 5-9: [1 sc in all st]. (24)
- Round 10: [2 sc, 1 dec] x6. (18)
- Round 11: [1 sc, 1 dec] x6. (12)
Place the eyes between rounds 6 and 7, spaced by 3 stitches. Do not attach them yet. With the tapestry needle and the white pearl cotton, make the eyelashes. Fix the eyes.
With the tapestry needle and the white pearl cotton, make the mouth.
With the tapestry needle and the pink yarn, make 2 little dots for the cheeks.
We are now doing the body.
- Round 12: [1 sc in all st]. (12)
- Round 13: [1 sc, 1 inc] x6. (18)
- Rounds 14-17: [1 sc in all st]. (18)
Fill the head.
Fill the body as you go.
Join a new color, white.
- Round 18: [1 sc in all st]. (18)
Join a new color, brown.
- Round 19: working in the back loop only (blo): [1 sc in all st]. (18)
- Rounds 20-22: [1 sc in all st]. (18)
Join a new color, white.
- Round 23: [1 sc in all st]. (18)
Join a new color, brown. We are now doing the feet.
- Round 24: working in the back loop only (blo): [1 sc in all st]. (18)
Fill the body before the close it.
- Round 25: working in the back loop only (blo): [1 sc, 1 dec] x6. (12)
- Round 26: [6 dec]. (6)
Close the body and fasten off.
We are now adding a row in the front loop of round 24. This will allow your doll to stand up. You can skip this step if you don’t want it to stand up.
Join the brown yarn in any front loop of Round 24 (I would suggest joining in a loop in the back so it won’t be too visible).
- Round 27: working in the front loop only (flo): [2 sc, 1 inc] x6. (24)
Finish with a slip stitch in the first st of round 27 and fasten off.
The skirt – Gingerbread Girl Crochet Pattern
With a 3.5 mm crochet and the white yarn.
Join the brown yarn in any front loop of Round 18 (I would suggest joining in a loop in the back so it won’t be too visible).
- Round 1: working in the front loop only (flo): [1 sc, 1 inc] x9. (27)
- Round 2: [2 sc, 1 inc] x9. (36)
Finish with a slip stitch in the first st of round 2 and fasten off.

We are starting by the hands first.
With a 3.5 mm crochet and brown yarn.
- Round 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)
- Round 2: [1 inc, 2 sc] x2. (8)
Change for the white yarn.
- Round 3: [1 sc in all st]. (8)
Change for the brown yarn.
- Round 4: working in the back loop only (blo): [1 sc in all st]. (8)
- Rounds 5-7: [1 sc in all st]. (8)
Close the arm, and leave a long tail for sewing.
Sew the arms to the body.
The hair/icing – Gingerbread girl Crochet Pattern
We are starting the hair with a magic circle that will be at the center of the head.
With a 3.5 mm crochet and white yarn.
- Round 1: start 8 sc in a magic ring. (8)
- Round 2: [1 inc in all st]. (16)
- Round 3: [(1 sc and 1 hdc in the next st), 1 dc, 1 dc, (1 hdc and 1 sc in the next st)] x4. (24)
- Round 4: [1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc] x4. (24)
Cut the yarn but leave a long tail for sewing the hair to the head. With pin needles, place the hair on the head and sew it.
Finish with a slip stitch in the first st of round 27 and fasten off.
The piggy tails (make 2) – Gingerbread Girl Crochet Pattern
With a 3.5 mm crochet and white yarn.
- Row 1: ch 8. (8)
- Row 2: starting in the 2nd ch from the hook: 1 sl st in all st. (7)
- Row 3: ch 8. (8)
- Row 4: starting in the 2nd ch from the hook: 1 sl st in all st. (7)
- Row 5: ch 8. (8)
- Row 6: starting in the 2nd ch from the hook: 1 sl st in all st. (7)
- Row 7: ch 8. (8)
- Row 8: starting in the 2nd ch from the hook: 1 sl st in all st. (7)
Cut and leave a long tail for sewing. With your tapestry needle, attach the 4 chains close together.
Sew the piggy tails to the icing on the head.
The bow – Gingerbread Girl Crochet Pattern
You can use a little bow or make your own as follow:

With a 3.5 mm crochet and red yarn.
- Row 1: ch 6. (6)
- Row 2: starting in the 2nd ch from the hook: 1 sc in all st. (5)
- Row 3: ch1, turn; [1 sc in all st]. (5)
Cut the yarn but leave a long tail for sewing. Fasten off
Wrap some red yarn in the middle of the bow to give it a bow shape.
Sew the bow to the piggy tails of the gingerbread girl.
Add two little buttons on the chest. If you do not have small buttons, you can use any color of yarn and make a little cross as a button.
