Let’s start – No-sew Crochet Corn

The body – No-sew Crochet Corn

  • The Corn is worked in continuous rounds (as a spiral). Use a stitch marker if needed.
  • Remember to stuff as you crochet.

With a 2.75 mm crochet and green yarn (or with a bigger hook of your choice)

    • Round 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring. (6) – NB: if you work with plush yarn: ch2; make 6 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook. (6)
    • Round 2: [6 inc]. (12)
    • Round 3: [1 inc in the next st, 1 sc]x6. (18)
    • Rounds 4-5: [1 sc in all st]. (18)

Change for the yellow yarn and keep working:

  • Round 6: Working in the back loop only (BLO): [1 sc in all st]. (18)
  • Rounds 7-10: [1 sc in all st]. (18)

Place the eyes between Rounds 8 and 9, spaced by 2 st.

  • Round 11: [1 dec, 1 sc]x6. (12)

The leaves – No-sew Crochet Corn

  • The leaves are worked in rows

The leaves are attached on Round 5, on the sides of the body by 6 stitches and spaced by 5 stitches from each other in the front of the corn. Place the stitch markers to know where to place your leaves and where you will have to join the yarn.

The leaf on the right (when facing the corn) – work on the leaf from the back to the front of the body for the first row (see pictures)

  • Row 1: Join the green yarn. Starting in the same stitch where you joined and working in the front loop only, make 1 sc. Keep working in the front loops only and make 1 sc in the next 5 st. (6)
  • Row 2: ch1, turn: 1 dec, 1 sc in the next 2 st, 1 dec. (4)
  • Row 3: ch1, turn: 2 dec. (2)
  • Row 4: ch1, turn: 1 dec. (1)

Cut the yarn, and fasten off.

The leaf on the left (when facing the corn) – work on the leaf from the front to the back of the body for the first row (see pictures)

  • Row 1: Join the green yarn. Starting in the same stitch where you joined and working in the front loop only, make 1 sc. Keep working in the front loop only and make 1 sc in the next 5 st. (6)
  • Row 2: ch1, turn: 1 dec, 1 sc in the next 2 st, 1 dec. (4)
  • Row 3: ch1, turn: 2 dec. (2)
  • Row 4: ch1, turn: 1 dec. (1)

Cut the yarn, and fasten off.

The hair – No-sew Crochet Corn

Cut one strand of white yarn (about 5.5″/14cm).

Insert the hair at the center top of the head: grab the yarn by the middle with your crochet hook, insert both ends into the loop, and tighten it up. Separate each strand of the yan as shown in the picture below and trim it to your desired length.
