The body – No-sew Crochet Gingerbread man
- The Gingerbread man is worked in continuous rounds (as a spiral). Use a stitch marker if needed.
- Remember to stuff as you crochet.
With a 2.75 mm crochet and light brown yarn (or with a bigger hook of your choice):
-
- Round 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring. (6) – NB: if you work with plush yarn: ch2; make 6 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook. (6)
- Round 2: [6 inc]. (12)
- Round 3: [1 inc in the next st, 1 sc]x6. (18)
Change for the white yarn:
- Round 4: [1 sc in all st]. (18)
Change for the light brown yarn:
- Rounds 5-10: [1 sc in all st]. (18)
Place the eyes between Rounds 8 and 9, spaced by 2 st.
With your tapestry needle and the pink yarn, make 2 little stitches below the eyes between rounds 7 and 8.
With your tapestry needle and the black cotton thread, make a little stitch for the mouth between rounds 7 and 8 (I used 2 strands of yarn).
Change for the white yarn:
- Round 11: [1 sc in all st]. (18)
- Round 12: [1 sc, 1 dec] x6. (12)
Fill the body with polyfill.
- Round 13: [6 dec]. (6)
Cut the yarn, close the body, and fasten off.
With your tapestry needle and the green and red yarn, make several stitches on the white part at the top of the head.
Sew two little buttons to your crochet gingerbread man. I put 1 over round 4 and 1 over round 6.
