Find here an easy crochet pattern to make a Mini Gingerbread Man
Hi everyone! You will find on this page a crochet pattern to make a Mini Gingerbread man amigurumi. He is so tiny and cute! I made it the perfect size to put it in a ball ornament or a snow globe. It works really fast.
The body is made in one part, so if you don’t like sewing a lot of pieces, it is the perfect crochet project for you.

Mini Gingerbread Man Amigurumi
Material:
- Yarn calling for a 5.5 mm hook in brown, white, and pink (very small amount for the cheeks).
- A very small amount of pearl cotton in white for the mouth.
- Size 3.5 mm crochet hook.
- 2 black safety eyes (6 mm)
- Stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
- Facultative: 2 small buttons or 1 little bow
- Facultative: 1 DIY snow globe or a DIY ornament / fake snow and glitter pebbles
Abbreviations:
- chain (ch)
- magic ring (mr)
- single crochet (sc)
- increase (inc)
- invisible decrease (dec)
- slip stitch (sl st)
- half double crochet (hdc)
- double crochet (dc)
Pattern: How to crochet a Mini Gingerbread Man Amigurumi?
We start with the head and finish with the bottom of the body.
The head and the body – Mini Gingerbread Man Amigurumi
With a 3.5 mm crochet and brown yarn.
- Round 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)
- Round 2: [1 inc in all st]. (12)
- Round 3: [1 sc, 1 inc] x6. (18)
- Rounds 4-7: [1 sc in all st]. (18)
- Round 8: [1 sc, 1 dec] x6. (12)
Place the eyes between rounds 5 and 6, spaced by 2 stitches.
- Round 9: [2 sc, 1 dec] x3. (9)
- Round 10: [1 sc in all st]. (9)
- Round 11: [2 sc, 1 inc] x3. (12)
- Rounds 12-14: [1 sc in all st]. (12)
With the tapestry needle and the white pearl cotton, make the mouth.
With the tapestry needle and the pink yarn, make 2 little dots for the cheeks between rounds 6 and 7.
Fill the head.
Fill the body as you go.
Join a new color, white.
- Round 15: [1 sc in all st]. (12)
Join a new color, brown.
- Round 16: working in back loops only: [1 sc in all st]. (12)
- Round 17: [1 sc in all st]. (12)
Join a new color, white.
- Round 18: [1 sc in all st]. (12)
Join a new color, brown.
- Round 19: working in back loops only: [1 sc in all st]. (12)
- Round 20: working in back loops only: [6 dec]. (6)
With your tapestry needle, close the body and fasten off.
We are now adding a row in the front loop of round 19. This will allow your doll to stand up. You can skip this step if you don’t want it to stand up.
Join the brown yarn in any front loop of Round 19 (I would suggest joining in a loop in the back so it won’t be too visible).
- Round 21: working in the front loop only (flo): [1 sc, 1 inc] x6. (18)
Finish with a slip stitch in the first st of round 21 and fasten off.

The arms (make 2) – Mini Gingerbread Man Amigurumi
We are starting by the hands first.
With a 3.5 mm crochet and brown yarn.
- Round 1: start 5 sc in a magic ring. (6)
- Rounds 2-5: [1 sc in all st]. (6)
Close the arm, and leave a long tail for sewing.
Sew the arms to the body.
The hair/icing – Gingerbread Man Crochet Pattern
We are starting the hair with a magic circle that will be at the center of the head.
With a 3.5 mm crochet and white yarn.
- Round 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)
- Round 2: [1 inc in all st]. (12)
- Round 3: [1 inc, 1 sc] x6. (18)
- Round 4: [4 sc, (2 DC in the next st), 3 sc, (2 DC in the next st), 3 sc, (2 DC in the next st), 4 sc, (2 DC in the next st)].(22)
Cut the yarn but leave a long tail for sewing the hair to the head. With pin needles, place the hair on the head and sew it.
Add 2 small buttons or a little bow to the chest/neck of your Mini Gingerbread man. You can use any color of yarn and make a little cross as a button.
You can place your mini Gingerbread man in a DIY ornament or a snow globe. You can glue it to the bottom (I preferred to attach mine with velcro) and add some fake snow, glitter pebbles, and tiny ornaments.
