Pattern: How to crochet a No-sew Grinch?

Let’s start – No-sew Crochet Grinch

The body – No-sew Crochet Grinch

  • The Grinch is worked in continuous rounds (as a spiral). Use a stitch marker if needed.
  • Remember to stuff as you crochet.

With a 2.75 mm crochet and green yarn.

    • Round 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)
    • Round 2: [6 inc]. (12)
    • Round 3: [1 inc in the next st, 1 sc]x6. (18)
    • Rounds 4-10: [1 sc in all st]. (18)

Place the eyes between Rounds 8 and 9, spaced by 2 st BUT DO NOT ATTACH THEM YET. Once you decide where to place the eyes, take your tapestry needle and the yellow yarn. Make 2 little stitches starting from where the eye will be inserted and going to the corner of the eyes between rounds 9 and 10. Once it is done, put the eyes back and secure them.

Keep working on the body:

  • Round 11: [1 dec, 1 sc] x6. (12)
  • Round 12: [1 sc in all st]. (12)

Fill the body with polyfill.

  • Round 13: [6 dec]. (6)

Cut the yarn, close the body, and fasten off.

With your tapestry needle and the black cotton thread, make a mouth between rounds 6 and 7 and two eyebrows above the eyes (see pictures below). Note: if you decide not to add a little heart, you can make the mouth bigger! See the pictures below and pick up your favorite!

Facultative: add a little button heart between Rounds 4 and 5 because his heart was 3 sizes too small.

The Hair – No-sew Crochet Grinch

Cut two strands of green yarn (about 5.5″/14cm). Insert the hair at the center top of his head: grab the yarn by the middle with your crochet hook, insert both ends into the loop and tighten it up. Separate each strand of the yan as shown in the picture below and trim it to your desired length. To style it, I recommend using a bit of hair gel.
