Let’s start – No-sew Crochet Mrs. Claus

The body and skirt – No-sew Crochet Mrs. Claus

  • Mrs. Claus is worked in continuous rounds (as a spiral). Use a stitch marker if needed.
  • Remember to stuff as you crochet.

With a 2.75 mm crochet and red yarn (or with a bigger hook of your choice):

    • Round 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring. (6) – NB: if you work with plush yarn: ch2; make 6 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook. (6)
    • Round 2: [6 inc]. (12)
    • Round 3: [1 inc in the next st, 1 sc]x6. (18)

Change for the white yarn:

    • Round 4: working in the back loop only (BLO): [1 sc in all st]. (18)
    • Round 5: working in the front loop only (FLO): [1 sc, 2 HDC in next st, 1 sc] x6. (24)

End by a slip stitch, cut the yarn and fasten off. Turn the skirt over the bottom of the body.

Join the red yarn in any stitch (back loop) of round 4  (better in the back to make it less visible):

    • Round 6: [1 sc in all st]. (18)
    • Round 7: [1 sc in all st]. (18)

Change for the pink yarn:

  • Round 8: [1 sc in all st]. (18)

  • Round 10: [1 sc in all st]. (18)

Change for the white yarn:

Place the eyes between Rounds 8 and 9, spaced by 2 st, but do not attach them yet.

With your tapestry needle and the black yarn, Make 2 eyelashes behind each eye. Secured the eyes. Make a mouth over Round 8.

Keep working on the body.

  • Round 12: [1 sc in all st]. (18)
  • Round 13: [1 sc, 1 dec] x6. (12)

Fill the body with polyfill.

  • Round 14: Working in the back loops only (BLO): [6 dec]. (6)

Cut the yarn, close the body, and fasten off.

Let’s now work on the bun. Join the white yarn in any front loop stitch of round 13 (preferably at the back).

  • Round 15: working in front loops only (FLO): [1 sc in all st]. (12)
  • Rounds 16-17: [1 sc in all st]. (12)

Fill the bun with polyfill.

With your tapestry needle, close the bun by inserting the tapestry needle in each front loop of Round 17 and tighten it up.

Cut the yarn, and fasten off.

Add a little piece of red yarn around the base of the bun.
